I learned about Renew Wellness Acupuncture from a coworker after we had a conversation about issues becoming pregnant. My husband and I had been trying for years so I thought it was worth a shot. I was also having issues with eczema and my weight so I came to Katy Ling, L.Ac. with my list of three. I told her I wanted to address the following 1. Fertility 2. Eczema and 3. My weight and in that order. Most health professionals would have told me I had my priorities out of order but Katy nodded and said that we could tackle my list in that order…but that I would have to do some work as well. Katy was kind and thorough, her compassion for my skin issues made me feel like I was in the right place. At my second appointment she checked in with me about my homework, she had asked me to give up dairy, caffeine and sugar as well as watch my intake of certain foods that might aggravate my rashes (she provided me with a list of foods and their effects). I honestly answered that I had gone cold turkey per her request and again to my surprise it seemed a health professional actually believed me! That was a first, and it felt nice to be trusted. Just one month after I started seeing Katy I became pregnant, she helped me through my pregnancy and beyond. Our son just turned 5 months old and when we’re ready to give him a sibling I’ll be visiting Katy again.

Katy Ling is the best when it comes to acupuncture. She is a gifted healer who really listens to your needs. I have a back and chronic pain condition, and she was able to help me significantly reduce my pain level and gain more mobility. She even made house calls when I broke my leg, and helped facilitate a speedy recovery. I wholeheartedly recommend her.

My husband and I tried to get pregnant for a couple years, but couldn’t. There was nothing medically wrong – I suspect just stress blocking things from happening. I went to acupuncture because I’d heard that it works and wanted to at least try it out before spending a lot of money on fertility treatments. Just 3 weeks into my treatment, I was pregnant! And I was a believer immediately! Katy and her team were awesome at helping me feel at ease trying acupuncture for the first time ever. I continued going to Katy throughout the pregnancy, and it helped me manage morning sickness and later-stage pain and discomfort. I highly recommend Katy! She’s a pro!

My husband and I had been trying to have a baby for about a year, when I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). It was a 4 month wait to see a fertility specialist, and I decided I couldn’t sit around and do nothing to help my situation, so I started researching alternative methods to getting pregnant with PCOS. That is when I came across acupuncture and Katy Ling. From the first appointment, until the birth of my little girl, Katy was wonderful. She was always kind and supportive, and gave me great advice to battle both my PCOS symptoms and later my pregnancy symptoms. The acupuncture made me feel great, and I always left with a smile on my face. Here I was thinking that I would never get pregnant, and within three months of getting acupuncture, taking herbs, and changing my diet (as advised by Katy) I was pregnant! I couldn’t believe it, and I truly believe I could not have gotten pregnant without the help of Katy. I will definitely be back when my husband and I decide to try for our second!

I have been seeing Katy Ling now for 8 visits. I cannot believe how much better I feel! I have been able to cut back on my morphine by half! I have 6 bad discs in my back that the only thing they can do is fuse them and the Dr’s don’t want to do that at this time. I have tried massage, chiropractic treatments, physical therapy all to no avail. This is the first thing that has helped take away the severe pain, it is now tolerable like aches and pains! Thank you, Katy, for helping me!

I had gone to the VA clinic to help with the pain in my hip and groin. After 3 appointments, I saw no results. I’ve had this pain for 11 years and my pain was a 9.5-10 on a scale from 1-10. Fortunately, I was able to get an appointment with Katy Ling and the pain went away after only one treatment! I can’t believe it! I could only lift my leg 2 inches off the floor and now I can almost get it to my knee. Her therapy is great! I’m very happy with Katy’s treatments and will continue to see her. The staff are nice and very helpful, too.

I had open heart surgery December 8, 2014 with severe complications, which was cause for my extended stay for recuperation and rehabilitation. A pick line was inserted inside my right bicep to administer medications. When the pick line was inserted, damage was done to the nerve canal in my arm. The pain was very intense and the doctors prescribed hydrocodone (norco) 325 mg every 3 hours. I was released from the hospital February 13, 2015. The doctors said the nerves would repair themselves “over time”. Follow up checks in May and November 2015 showed very little improvement. Meanwhile the pain and numbness continued along with 4 norco per day. During my follow up appointment with the pain clinic in November, I asked the doctor if he thought acupuncture might help. He said it was worth a try.
I began seeing Katy for treatments on February 16, 2016. After evaluating my symptoms, she began treating me twice a week, focusing first on my moderate to severe pain. Not knowing what to expect, I trusted her and felt comfort in her words “I’m going to make you feel better.” Shortly after my first treatment, I felt slight decrease in my pain and waited anxiously for my next treatment. After over a year of suffering and taking pain meds, I finally felt I had some hope. After about 5 treatments, the pain in my arm had diminished to the point that I only had dull pain occasionally. Shortly thereafter, the pain had completely left my arm. Total focus was now on the pain and numbness in my hand. After she cured the pain in my hand, she concentrated on the numbness. I went for another appointment with the nerve doctor and he was thrilled when he checked the nerves in my arm to find they had repaired to over six inches.
When the pain diminished in my hand and we worked on the numbness, Katy asked if I was ready to get off the pain medication altogether. She wanted me to be sure because once I started weaning off them, she did not want me going back on them. I told her that after over a year and half, I wanted to be done with them. The pain was to the point that I didn’t need them anymore. She said the next step was to help me through the withdrawal symptoms of nausea, headaches, insomnia, diarrhea and irritability. I took my last norco pill on July 7, 2016.
The next few weeks were not very pleasant. But, if it wasn’t for Katy’s treatments helping me along the way, I know from my previous attempts on stopping, it would have been hell, and as in the past, I would have started taking them again just to ease the misery.
I continue seeing Katy for the numbness in my hand and fingers, which have improved to the point that she reduced my treatments to once a week.
Just as it is in any profession, there are good and there are not so good. I can tell you that just prior to seeing Katy, I had the opportunity to experience the not so good. I can say unequivocally that Katy Ling, MSTCM, L.Ac. IS GOOD!!
